Nauticraft is the Gold Rush of pedal boats
The best pedal boats I have ever seen or used. There was a short piece written about them in Recumbent News a few years ago as I recall. In any event these are expensive, but really top grade boats. Well designed with unbelievable performance. Several years ago the guy who developed them took one to Newport, RI to the Small Boat Show and challenged all others to a race that was out to a buoy and back. Kayaks, sea skiffs, shells, you name it, all entered the competition. The Nauticraft handily beat the field. Then one of the guys in a shell wanted to try it. He was an Olympian and could not believe this goofy pedal boat with a fat guy in it beat him. He bested his own time over the course by almost 1 full minute on his first attempt.

These boats have been through the rigorous United States Coast Guard small boat tests. Polyethylene, the material used in the rotational molding process, has a natural buoyency. This, along with cast-in floatational foam gives Nauticraft boats additional contingency floatation.
The Escapade's deep keel gives protection for the propeller and rudder. The ballast filled keel gives ultimate stability making it exceptionally seaworthy. The sailboat-type hull positions the operator down inside the cockpit, providing a comforting feeling of safety, security, and privacy. The Encore has twin keels that protect both propellers. It's massive size in length and beam gives it both stability and safety.
Environmently Safe
Lastly, all Nauticraft boats are safe for the environment. The manufacturing process utilizes clean technology -- no hazardous pollutants are released into the atmosphere during or after the manufacturing process. And, of course, there is minimal effect on the environment while using these boats. Also, when the useful life of the boat is over, the polyethylene plastic has the potential to be recycled.
