Praise for
Pedal Boating
I bought
a boat this fall that might interest readers. I gave up sailing
small boats some years back for several reasons, the main one being
my body’s loud complaints at the end of the day about the
lack of activity: Too much sitting. Additional reasons were the
flakey winds and short sailing season of Lake Champlain in Vermont.
I loved the lake, but had to admit that sailing was not the best
way for me to be on it. full detail >>
Record-breaking crossing of the English Channel
In
a 12 foot Nauticraft Escapade pedal boat, Paul Tucker, 59, pedaled
to a record-breaking crossing of the English Channel on Tuesday,
May 21st, 2002. He completed his round-trip 60-mile journey in a
record time of 14 hours 20 minutes between Folkestone, England and
Calais, France. Our UK dealer, John Richardson, loaned the totally
unmodified standard production model Escapade to Paul. The Guinness Book of Records recorded Paul’s accomplishment as a world record!
Paul
credits his success to the Escapade. "The craft was magnificent
and ran really well." Paul said after completing his trip.
This crossing is a testament to the Escapade's stability, sea-worthiness,
and durability. The significance of this crossing is further evidenced
by the fact that a sponsored team has been trying to complete a
single crossing for over 10 years with no success. full detail pdf
